Although Mauritius is a reasonably well-known destination in Europe, most Americans would probably respond with a blank stare if you ask them if they had ever heard of it. The little island is the epitome of paradise, situated 2,000 kilometers off the coast of southeast Africa.
Besides relaxing on the lovely white sand beaches, you can tour the colorful capital, hike waterfalls, perform sunset yoga, eat on some traditional street delicacies, experience the island’s rum, scuba dive, and a whole lot more.
If you’re still not quite convinced to book a flight after reading all of those activities, discover why this year-round location is truly paradise by reading on!
While one could contend that there is never a bad time to travel to Mauritius, October through December, during their early summer, is considered the “best” time to go. You’ll enjoy perfect beach conditions, sunny skies, and mild temps throughout this time.
As the busiest travel months, December through March tend to have heavier crowds, so if you’re hoping for a peaceful vacation, you might want to avoid these times.
Avoid January through March if at all possible, as these months are known as cyclone season! From May through October, when the rain stops, the weather turns from hot to pleasant, providing you with plenty of sunshine to swim in the azure seas.
